Inspiration and Competition

It is competition weekend!  I am here with Myrtle, and very excited to be here.  We arrived at the site of the competition—a university in Albany—early this morning, where she and her fellow dancers were given a studio in which to practice.  Everywhere we looked, there were dancers, tall and short, dark and fair, but all with a loose, easy kind of movement that showed an innate confidence in their own strength and control of their bodies. We have had…

Proof of a Change

Well, Inca had her doubts, but even she has admitted that my plan has begun to show some results.  The vitriol sent in Mary’s direction has lessened, giving her a chance to breathe.  And my four newest charges, for I have begun to think of them in that way, have started to feel a bit differently about their actions against her. I have had to use different methods to reach each girl, for each one is very different.  With Monique,…

A Place in the Plan

There is a reason for everything that happens.  There is a plan that guides the universe, and everything, from the smallest bird flying from one branch to another, to the largest star spinning in its slow dance away from the universe’s heart, has a part to play.  Everything that is and everything that was and everything that ever will be is moving toward a single destination, and that place is good.  I know this, and yet I have fallen into…

A New Temptation

Temptation is a strange and powerful thing.  This world is full of pleasures, and that is good, because it was made to be a pleasant and happy place.  But sometimes indulging one pleasure leads to the destruction of another, greater one.  We angels do not see reason in this because we know what is best, thanks to the teaching of the Father’s Will.  Humans have forgotten this, and they must judge for themselves what is most important and what will…

Pamela Stands Her Ground

I managed to convince Pamela not to make the call to Stephanie.  I believed, and Danit agreed with me, that direct contact between these two women would make them enemies, and this would be no help to Pamela’s current state of mind. So I was anxious, today, when during Pamela’s planning period, she was informed by the office that she had a visitor.  Somehow I knew precisely who it would be. Stephanie Morrell is a thin woman—that was my first…

Right and Wrong

Well!  I have been very busy the past few days.  With Mary and the other girls, as well as Shannon trying to talk herself out of an attraction I need her to keep, I have used up all of my hours on Earth and could have used more.  I have learned my lesson, of course, and will accept my limitations, but still I worry when I am not with my charges. Today was another eventful day, this one in Pamela’s…

Those Who Do Harm

It has been a hard night for Mary.  The girls who have been hurting Mary have struck another blow, leaving harsh comments online for her to find.  The words were anonymous, but Inca knew who was guilty. I could hardly read the words that they wrote, and I certainly will not repeat them here.  They were poisonous, and they made me angry, but it also horrified me that anyone, particularly young girls, could do such things.  Mary has not stopped…

Not an Easy Match

Thank you to everyone who has asked about Mary, or expressed their sympathy and concern for her!  Inca and I continue to alternate spending time with her, so that she is rarely alone. Meanwhile, I have been looking in on Shannon, who did manage to meet with Mark over coffee.  It did not go quite as well as she might have hoped.  They talked about her paper—she has decided to write about the models who inspire artists to create masterpieces,…

Thoughts of Harm

I went to visit Mary this evening while Inca was looking into ways to expose Mary’s bullying to the adults in her life.  It truly was a pleasure to spend time with her, to learn more about who she is. Mary is musical.  She plays the clarinet, and she loves being in the marching band,[1] even though that often makes her a target for teasing.  When she came home from practice, she found some peace in playing a few of…

To Know Oneself

A few very quick updates: Daniel has not yet told his wife, but he told Pamela that he did yesterday.  I could see that he was lying, but Pamela does not have the same vision that I do, and while she was skeptical, some of her anger has softened.  I find this very dangerous and will be watching her carefully.  Meanwhile Shannon is hard at work on research—thankfully she has found a topic that interests her, if only because she…
